Zayn Malik postpones US tour after Liam Payne’s death


Liam Payne’s untimely death left a void in the music world and sent shockwaves through his fans and followers. Former One Direction members, too, were left shattered following the passing away of their fellow band member. In light of this, former member of the globally popular band, Zayn Malik postponed the dates of his U.S tour. Taking to his Instagram story sections, Zayn wrote, “Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY TOUR.”

His statement further read, “The dates are being rescheduled for January and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding.”

After his death, Zayn shared a heart-wrenching post on social media along with an old photo of them. He had written, “I lost a brother when you left us, and can’t explain to you what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly.”

Fellow bandmates Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, too, expressed their grief.

Liam Payne died on October 16 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Buenos Aires Security Ministry confirmed that he jumped from the balcony of his third-floor room at the Casa Sur Hotel in the Palermo neighbourhood. The autopsy report revealed that he died of trauma and internal and external bleeding.
