YouTube will soon let you take screenshots on PCs with a single click
YouTube is used for watching videos but many of you like taking screenshots of the platform which is now going to become easier.
YouTube is the most popular platform for watching videos. You can watch it using the web, desktop app or on your mobile device. And let’s say if you want to take a screenshot of any YouTube video the options are limited but soon that won’t be the case as the web browsers want to make it easy as taking a photo.
The platform is testing a feature called save frame which can be used by right-clicking on any video that is playing on YouTube. The important part of the feature is that users will get the option when playing YouTube videos on browsers like Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
It is hardly surprising to see both these browsers get the feature as you might know both of them are powered by the same Chromium engine. So, if developers build something for the main engine, it is possible for Google and Microsoft to add it into their respective web browsers.
Reports say that the Save frame feature will let you take screenshots of YouTube videos in the original resolution and in PNG format which offers higher image quality compared to JPG. We’ve always felt that taking screenshots shouldn’t be a two or three-step process, especially on the web.
For smartphone users, you can simply click on the power and volume-up button simultaneously to take a screenshot and even more advanced options like gesture your hands to take a picture have been available.
So it is a welcome move for the web users who don’t need to go for the PC shortcuts like Windows icon + Prt Sc button or Cmd + Arrow for Macs. The tests are still going on so we can’t say when the official build with this feature will be rolled out for all the users but expect the feature in the coming weeks on Chrome and Edge browsers.
