‘You guys redefined T20 cricket’: In emotional dressing room speech, SRH co-owner Kavya…

NEW DELHI: An emotional but proud Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner and CEO Kavya Maran on Sunday hailed the team’s glorious run in IPL 2024, pointing out that her players redefined T20 cricket on their way to the summit clash.
Kolkata Knight Riders crushed Sunrisers by eight wickets in the final in Chennai to lift their third IPL title.
Although SRH succumbed to the lowest-ever total in an IPL final — 113 — their aggressive style of play throughout the season, where they shattered numerous batting records, garnered praise from fans and pundits alike.
And despite the defeat in the finale, Kavya was seen applauding her team in a dressing room speech after the game.

Mitchell Starc bowled a sensational opening spell to fire KKR to their third title with an eight-wicket thrashing of Sunrisers.
Kolkata bowled out Hyderabad for a lowly 113 in a final as Australia’s left-arm quick Starc returned figures of 2 for 14 to live up to his top billing in the world’s most lucrative T20 tournament.
Starc went to Kolkata for a record USD 2.98 million in the December auction and ended the IPL with two stellar performances, including a match-winning 3 for 34 in the first play-off to hammer the same opponent.
Kolkata’s batsmen had it easy and despite Sunil Narine’s early departure, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who made 39, and Venkatesh Iyer, on 52 not out, helped the team home with 9.3 overs to spare after a partnership of 91.
