Elena Reygadas, who owns Rosetta, grew up in a large Mexican family and studied English before becoming a chef. Naturally, the fine-dining restaurant in the Roma neighbourhood in Mexico City reflects both influences.
Crowned the World’s Best Female Chef in 2023 by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, Reygadas initially started with a soft spot for pastas and Italian recipes. But later became Mexico-centric.
The signature dish of this exquisitely designed restaurant with brick walls, lots of indoor plants and natural lighting is the guava roll, a puff pastry bread filled with guava jam, a fruit adored across Latin America.
