Woman Kicked Out of Flight for Being Drunk and Refusing to Wear Face Mask

Health organisations across the world have been advocating the use of face masks as a major preventive measure against the novel coronavirus. Despite this, many people in different parts of the globe have been flouting rules by not wearing the mask. In a recent incident, a 34-year-old woman was asked to get off a plane bound for Ibiza after she refused to wear the face mask and abused the authorities.

According to a report published in The Daily Mail, Hayley Box had got inside the plane without showing her passport to the cabin crew and the police. Soon after, the police arrested her for flouting the rules. The 34-year-old, however, claims that she does not remember the incident as she was in drunk state.

Box, who is a single parent of two children, had apparently consumed a bottle of wine at the hotel and had another glass of it at the airport. She asserts that the incident happened because she had drank wine too fast and did not eat anything.

Describing her purpose of travel, Box said that she was going to console the family of one of her friends who had passed away. As per the protocol, after the arrest, Box was produced in court where her lawyer, Jane Shaw informed the court that the woman is ashamed of her actions.

She also added that the 34-year-old woman was going through a bad phase due to the death of her close friend and was also without sleep. The lawyer also mentioned that her client was in such a condition that she does not even recollect being on the plane.

The prosecutor, on the other hand, said that the woman was constantly abusing the cabin crew as well as the cops. When the crew members asked her to leave the plane since she did not have a passport, Box began to abuse. Further, she also went on to the extent of putting on a seat belt when asked to get off the aircraft.

The woman was later let off by paying a substantial fine.
