The ‘monster’ wildfires wreaked havoc in France as it engulfed nearly 7,000 hectares of land in the country. The French government is taking help of other European nations’ firefighting teams to tackle the deadly fire. According to a report, more than 1,000 firefighters, backed by water-bombing planes, are battling the fire that forced thousands of people flee their homes in southwestern Gironde region. The scorching heat wave and wind are fanning the flames. “It’s an ogre, a monster,” said Gregory Allione from the French firefighters body FNSPF. The experts claim that the climate change is the main reason behind the heatwaves, floods, wildfires and crumbling glaciers in recent weeks across the globe. The head of the European Space Agency, Josef Aschbacher, said rising land temperatures and shrinking rivers as measured from space left no doubt about the consequences of climate change. It prevailing conditions will have adverse affects on agriculture and other industries.
