Why Vicky Kaushal gave up a career in engineering to pursue his Bollywood…

We’ve often seen stories in films when a person sacrifices everything that society considers as ‘normal’ to pursue their dream. Well, this filmy script is also Vicky Kaushal’s life. Vicky, who is now one of the most popular actors in the industry, was a student at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Versova.

Like most engineering students, Vicky was taken by his college for an IV (Industrial Visit). This is usually done to give the soon-to-be graduates a glimpse of their life in the future and see how real work is done. However, the trip turned into an eye-opener for Vicky as he then realized that this was something he did not want to do. During an interview with a leading daily, the actor said, “I saw those men, sitting behind computer screens for hours. That was not for me. But I completed the course. I didn’t have any other choice or plan.”

The actor also said that once he made his decision, there was no looking back. He stated, “I never pondered during my struggling phase that I should have become an engineer as I knew that was not my life. I couldn’t have lived it, it would have been a very claustrophobic life. Here whatever be the struggles, I was enjoying it. I was breathing, I felt I was living my life. It was a beautiful phase. The struggles were there but never bogged me down. Even during the struggle period, I knew this is what I want to do.”
