‘We’re not Chinese stooge,’ By banning TikTok, Pakistan is trying to save itself from the…

Sometimes even the best of friends can hurt you the most and China will be feeling betrayed after its colonial slave/friend Pakistan on Friday banned the highly controversial espionage app–TikTok. According to a report by Geo News, Pakistan’s Telecommunication Authority (PTA) blocked TikTok, saying the Chinese app had failed to comply with the government’s instructions for “development of an effective mechanism for proactive moderation of unlawful online,”

PTA added that the step was taken after the authority received a number of complaints from different segments of the society against immoral and indecent content on the video-sharing application.

“In view of a number of complaints from different segments of the society against immoral/indecent content on the video-sharing application TikTok, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has issued instructions for blocking of the application,” PTA said in its statement.

After Pakistan was snubbed hard by its former master Saudi Arabia for warming up to Turkey, the Imran Khan government was left lurking in the lurch with no financial power to back it in times of duress. Despite the China-made pandemic and its devastating after effect on the global economy, a highly enraged Saudi Arabia made Pakistan pay back $1 billion of the loan granted way back in October 2018, four months ahead of its repayment period.

Comically, Pakistan had to take a $1 billion loan from China to payback Saudi Arabia. Pakistan even had formally requested to extend the arrangement but received a cold response from the Saudis.

Turkey has only joined hands with Pakistan so that it can fleece the Imran Khan Niazi government which so far hasn’t realized what Erdogan is up to. Turkey is engaged on several battlefronts with a dilapidated economy and thus Pakistan has no hopes of securing any funding from the radical Islamic country.

Consequently, Islamabad is trying to leverage the banning of TikTok to receive fresh loans from Beijing which funnily enough has run the country to the ground through the failed China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in which the Xi Jinping regime has provided shark-loans to Imran Khan and his incompetent government.

Also, Islamabad is trying to send a message to the world, albeit only for optics that it is not a Chinese lackey and that it can make hard, independent decisions. However, the banning of TikTok and making a big fuss of it can be a last-ditch attempt to gain some favour in the eyes of the international community and presumably FATF which otherwise is precariously close to blacklisting the terrorist-state.

As for TikTok, the Byte-dance owned company is breathing its last. After being banned in India, TikTok is facing a similar fate in the USA and Australia where aspersions have been cast over the app’s security.
