Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has said that he has already made his venture into Australia, and although it would need a while for the feeling of racing for a new team to sink in, he is confident of a good start with Ferrari.
Despite the shorter duration of practice, Hamilton said that he is prepared to make an impactful debut for the Italian team. The 2025 Formula 1 season is all set to begin in a few days’ time, with Melbourne hosting the season-opening race.
Ahead of his starry debut, Hamilton said that the training period with Ferrari was short, but he looked to prepare himself to the best of his ability.
“I can’t believe the race is already next week. So I already started to make my venture to Australia on Friday. So that’s when it starts to be; it will start to sink in a little bit as the weekend kind of arrives,” Hamilton said while speaking to Sky Sports.

“I feel we’re as best prepared as we could be, given the short space of time that I’ve had,” Hamilton said.
“There’s still things to learn, but I’m just excited to get going. I love racing and so all the other stuff is stuff I love less. Racing is what I love. Being in Melbourne, it’s going to be very reminiscent of my first Grand Prix there,” Hamilton added.
In some respects, the seven-time world champions’ move is already a marketing win. He won’t race for Ferrari until next week in Australia, ending 13 months of hype since he announced his decision to leave Mercedes.
Hamilton’s first pictures as a Ferrari employee were curated to perfection. His sometimes playful fashion sense took a traditional turn with a sharp double-breasted suit as he posed in front of company founder Enzo Ferrari’s house.
