Buffalo Bills star Von Miller is ready to suit up for the team’s clash against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, head coach Sean McDermott confirmed Friday.
The linebacker last week reportedly turned himself into police on accusations that he put his hands around his pregnant girlfriend’s neck, shoved her and pulled her hair. He is facing a felony charge of assault on a pregnant person.
But McDermott insisted Miller was ‘ready to go from a football standpoint’ when he spoke to the media two days ahead of the Bills’ game against the reigning Super Bowl champions.
However, McDermott acknowledged the backlash from some fans to Miller potentially playing on Sunday amid the allegations.
‘I 100 percent understand [the fans’ concern],’ he said. ‘This is not an easy situation. The hardest part for us is, I’m a football coach, I’m not an investigator and we only have so much information at this point. But we’re doing the best job we can with what we have or don’t have in this case.

‘I can promise those out there that we have looked into every last thing. We jumped onto a call Sunday night again and said, “Everybody, what do we know?” And there were multiple people from different parts of our organization with expertise in this area and this is where we’re at.
‘For those people, I can promise you that we’re always going to try and do the right thing, beyond the football field.
‘We have to continue to take it one day at a time and see what more comes forward.’
More to follow.
