Veteran actor Jagdeep, who was known for his class apart act as Soorma Bhopali in the iconic Bollywood film Sholay and appeared in over 400 films, passed away today. The actor was seen in films like Andaz Apna Apna, Purana Mandir, Do Bigha Zamin, Brahmachari, Aar-Paar and several others. The actor was famous for his comic timing and most of his roles were about adding comic relief in the film. Born as Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri on 29 March 1939, the actor-comedian was 81 years old.
Though the family is yet to release a statement, director Anubhav Sinha and comedian Johny Lever confirmed the news on Twitter.
