Trump’s gesture for young fan in wig and suit: Photo-op, autographed $20 bill

Former US President Donald Trump brought a young supporter to tears of joy during a surprise campaign stop in Philadelphia on Saturday.

According to a Daily Mail report, the young fan, named Timmy, was seen wearing a navy-blue suit, red tie, and blonde wig resembling Trump’s signature style.

Trump warmly greeted the boy, gifted him a signed $20 bill, and posed for a photo amidst a crowd of onlookers and security personnel. The heartwarming moment was captured on camera and the video has gone viral.

During the interaction, Trump told the crowd, “I like that kid!” He also made a light-hearted remark to Timmy, who was overwhelmed with emotion on meeting his idol. “If your parents don’t want you, I’ll take you,” Trump quipped.

The encounter between Trump and his young fan when the presumptive Republican presidential nominee made an unexpected stop at Tony and Nick’s Steaks, a popular food joint in Philadelphia, in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.

During his visit, Trump reportedly left a generous $500 tip and wrote “no taxes on tips” on the receipt. It was a nod to his plan for tax-free tips for restaurant workers, a move tailored to resonate with blue-collar communities, even in a predominantly Democratic city like Philadelphia.

The highlight of Trump’s Philadelphia visit was his rally at Temple University, where he criticised President Joe Biden’s economic policies, citing a purported 34 per cent approval rating for Biden among Pennsylvanians, Fox News reported.

Addressing supporters at the Liacouras Center’s 10,000-seat auditorium, Trump said, “Few communities have suffered more under the Biden regime than Philadelphia.”

Hitting out at Biden over the issues of crime and safety, he claimed, “Under crooked Joe, the city of brotherly love is being ravaged by bloodshed and crime.”

Trump assured the crowd that his administration would bring “law and order and safety back to our streets.”

Pennsylvania’s significance in the electoral landscape is pivotal, with its 19 electoral votes potentially determining the outcome of the November election.
