Tom Brady heading to the Super Bowl for TENTH time after Tampa Bay Buccaneers victory

Tom Brady on Sunday reached his tenth Super Bowl

The 43-year-old quarterback led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a compelling 31-26 win over the Green Bay Packers. In doing so, the Bucs will next month be the first team to play in the Super Bowl in their own stadium.

Brady will become the oldest player at any position to play in a Super Bowl.

‘It’s great to get another road win, and now we got a home game,’ said Brady, who went 20 of 36 for 280 yards with three touchdowns. ‘Who’d ever thought a home Super Bowl for us? But we did it.’

Brady is in his first year at Tampa Bay after reaching this stage nine times with the New England Patriots. For two decades, Tom Brady was the face of the Patriots before leaving the club in March last year.

He moved to Tampa as a free agent after inking a two-year, $50 million deal with the Bucs and brought star tight end Rob Gronkowski out of retirement to join him.

Following his win, the six-time Super Bowl champ’s wife Gisele Bündchen shared a snap of herself and their daughter Vivian, 8; and son Benjamin, 11, in their Tampa Bay Buccaneer jerseys.

Bündchen – who boasts 27.3 million social media followers – gushed: ‘We are already cheering here papai! We love you! Let’s go @tombrady! Let’s go Bucs!’  She later triumphantly tweeted: ‘Yeeeeeah Super Bowl here we come!’ Bündchen also Instastoried a close-up of his face captioned: ‘@tombrady we love and are so proud of you, papai!’

Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians said: ‘The belief he gave everybody in this organization that it could be done, it only took one man.’

The Bucs will face Kansas City Chiefs on February 7.

‘Tom is the GOAT (greatest of all time),’ said Bucs receiver Scotty Miller, who caught a 39-yard touchdown pass with 1 second left until halftime. ‘Last year, we ended 7-9. This year, we’re going to the Super Bowl. He’s the biggest reason.’

Brady is set to start at his tenth Super Bowl next month – that is more appearances than 31 of the 32 teams in the NFL have ever made.

He has made the Super Bowl four out of the last five seasons; it is his third since turning 40.

Brady’s ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan also gave him a ‘congratulatory’ shout-out on Instagram: ‘Could not be more proud @tombrady said he would do it and he did.’

The Cali-born quarterback famously ended his two-year relationship with the 49-year-old Blue Bloods actress in December 2006 – the same month he went on a blind date with Gisele at West Village wine bar, Turks & Frogs.

Bridget went on to welcome their 13-year-old son John Edward eight months later, and Tom has been happily married to Bündchen for 11 years now.

A four-time Super Bowl Most Valuable Player and three-time league MVP, Brady and his supermodel wife Bundchen this month sold off their homes in New York City and Massachusetts while consolidating properties as they gear up to move to ‘Billionaire’s Bunker’ in Miami.

The couple sold their NYC apartment for $37million to a Connecticut-based financier, the New York Post reported. Although they’ve sold this apartment, Brady and Bundchen still have another unit in the same building which they are holding on to.

Confirmation of the bigger apartment’s sale came 11 days after the couple sold their Massachusetts home, where they lived while Brady was quarterback for the New England Patriots.

The couple were reported to have purchased a property in Miami’s exclusive Indian Creek Island community, where model Karlie Kloss and her husband Joshua Kushner, his brother Jared Kushner and wife Ivanka Trump will be among their neighbors.

According to the New York Post, Tom and Bundchen paid $17million for the Florida property, which they are now tearing down. In its place, they are building what’s been described as an eco-friendly dream home.

Indian Creek is a 300-acre island in Florida’s Biscayne Bay known as ‘Billionaire’s Bunker.’ It is watched over by a 13-person security force that patrols the perimeter of the island.

About 30 homes are located on the island, at the center of which is one of Florida’s most exclusive country clubs and an 18-hole golf course.

Brady has long been known to be friends with Ivanka’s father, former President Donald Trump, after meeting in 2001.

Brady told Howard Stern in April 2020 that his friendship with Trump led to his being questioned about politics, which he didn’t want to discuss, while Trump was campaigning for president in 2016.

‘It was uncomfortable to me,’ Brady said, according to Yahoo Sports, adding ‘You can’t undo things — not that I would undo a friendship — but the political support is totally different than the support of a friend.’

In a social media post confirming he would be leaving the Patriots last year, Brady paid tribute to his fans and teammates as well as Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick, at that time the only coach he had played for as a professional.

‘Although my football journey will take place elsewhere, I appreciate everything that we have achieved and am grateful for our incredible TEAM accomplishment,’ he wrote in social media statement. ‘I have been privileged to have had the opportunity to know each and everyone of you, and to have the memories we’ve created together.’

A sixth-round pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, Brady was a backup quarterback until an injury to Drew Bledsoe thrust him into the starter’s role in 2001. That season ended with an improbable Super Bowl run and an upset of the heavily favored St. Louis Rams to win the franchise’s first NFL title.

Brady left the Patriots ranking second in NFL history in passing touchdowns (541) and passing yards (74,571). Only 11-time NBA champion and Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell has enjoyed more success in professional sports in the New England area than Brady.

He and Belichick also rank as the most successful coach-quarterback duo, with 219 wins, 30 postseason victories, and, of course, their six Super Bowl titles.

On Sunday the Bucs were never behind in a compelling match, a classic game of two halves.

They held what appeared a commanding half-time lead after Arians was rewarded for a brave call. With 13 seconds on the clock they converted on fourth and four. The next play, Brady exposed terrible coverage, throwing to Scotty Miller for a breathtaking 39-yard touchdown pass. It turned a four-point game into a 21-10 advantage.

‘We’re coming home,’ Bucs coach Bruce Arians said Sunday. ‘We’re coming home to win.’

Brady extended the lead to 18 points shortly after the break, with an eight-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Brate.

With Tampa Bay’s defense stifling Green Bay’s ground game, quarterback Aaron Rodgers took his team on his back.

The MVP-elect threw for two touchdowns in the third quarter and suddenly the Packers were within five points. Rodgers, who is now 1-4 in conference title games, was superb, completing 33 of 48 passes for 346 yards.

And with Brady and his offense spluttering — he threw interceptions on three straight drives for the first time in his career — Green Bay seemed to have the game in their grasp.

Down 31-23 after a Ryan Succop field goal, they were perched deep in Tampa territory. But on fourth and one from the eight yard line, head coach Matt LaFleur made the baffling decision to go for a field goal with just over two minutes remaining.

Led by Brady, a master at draining the clock, the Bucs did just that. That leaves Brady to compete for his seventh Super Bowl title. Should he win, it will be one more than New England’s haul.

Brady has certainly earned the $30M-per-year free agent contract he signed in March by leading his team to Super Bowl LV, which airs February 7 on CBS.

Three-time Grammy winner The Weeknd is scheduled to headline the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show.

Country crooner Eric Church and R&B belter Jazmine Sullivan will team up to perform the National Anthem before the big game.

The NFL is planning for about 22,000 fans at the Super Bowl. Fans will be in pods separated by 6 feet, and masks will be required in accordance with local COVID-19 safety protocols.

The game will set an attendance record for the smallest Super Bowl crowd.
