In the 2000s, this actress quickly won the hearts of audiences with her charm and acting skills. Though she began her career with a less-than-successful debut, it didn’t take long for her to rise to stardom, thanks to her breakout role alongside a renowned co-star. Over the years, she carved a niche for herself in the industry and worked with some of the biggest actors. However, her journey was not without its challenges, including on-set controversies. We are talking about Amrita Rao.

The Actress Was Slapped By Her Co-Star

Amrita Rao made her acting debut in 2002 with the film Ab Ke Baras. However, the movie did not do well at the box office. In 2003, she starred in Ishq Vishq, alongside Shahid Kapoor, which became a major hit and launched her career. Following this success, she was seen in several popular films, including Masti, Main Hoon Na and Vivah.

However, her career was not without its controversies. In 2006, while working on the film Pyare Mohan, alongside Esha Deol, the two actresses reportedly had a heated argument on set. According to reports, the disagreement escalated, and Esha Deol even slapped Amrita Rao. In an old interview, Esha Deol admitted that she had no regrets about the incident and felt that Amrita Rao ‘totally deserved’ what happened.

Despite this incident, Amrita Rao continued to work with some of the industry’s biggest stars. She shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in Main Hoon Na, Sanjay Dutt in Shikhar, Mahesh Babu in Athidi and Shahid Kapoor in multiple films, including Ishq Vishq and Vivah. Her performances in these films were widely appreciated.

When The Actress Took A Break

Amrita Rao made a special appearance in Sulemani Keeda in 2014. She then took a five-year hiatus from the screen before making her return in 2019 with Thackeray. She will next be seen in Jolly LLB 3 and the film will mark her comeback to the cinema after six years. Amrita Rao married Anmol Sood in 2016, and the couple welcomed their son, Veer, into the world in 2020.
