This Chicago Hotel Has Recreated The ‘Home Alone’ Experience

Included in your stay: a lovely cheese pizza, just for you.

There’s no question that ‘Home Alone’ will forever and always be considered one of the best (arguably the best) holiday movie of all time.

In honor of the films 30th anniversary, Graduate Evanston has just unveiled The King McCallister Experience that will allow you to relive the magic in the hotel’s brand new ‘Home Alone Room.’

“Home Alone is all about youthful optimism and playful mischief and those sentiments and nostalgic feelings are the epitome of the types of stories we try to bring to life in our hotels,” CEO and Founder of Graduate Hotel’s Ben Weprin said.

Paying homage to the 1990 classic’s Chicago roots, the ‘Home Alone Room’ has been completely recreated to mirror the McCallister family home where Kevin famously hopped on his parents bed while eating fistfuls of popcorn before going through Buzz’s private stuff and ordering a Little Nero’s pizza.

Now bookable on the hotel’s website, The King McCallister Experience also includes a polaroid camera to use throughout your visit, a minibar stocked with Kevin’s favorite snacks and an in-room theater featuring ‘Home Alone’ movies on demand. Of course, the Home Alone stay wouldn’t be complete without a Chicago-style cheese pizza just for you, which is also included in your stay.

Nestled on a residential street not far from the Northwestern University campus, the 119 room Graduate Evanston opened in October and follows in the footsteps of its 28 Graduate Hotels predecessors when it comes to creating a unique hotel experience.

Outside of the Home Alone suite, Graduate Evanston’s overall concept pays tribute to Evanston literary figures both new and old while boasting a more refined and residential design that embodies the history and legacy of Evanston and nearby Northwestern.

The room and experience will be bookable year-round starting at $169 per night using the code KEVIN and ten percent of the proceeds will also be donated to Lurie Children’s Hospital.

“Storytelling is at the core of Graduate, and Chicago native John Hughes was one of the greatest storytellers of all time,” Ben Weprin said. “We all grew up watching his films and now share them with our children. It transports us to a time that is incredibly nostalgic. As a kid, you can imagine being Kevin and now, you can relate to being the parents.”

Happy holidays, ya filthy…Well, you know the rest.
