The usual suspects of Bollywood are indeed out of their cubbyholes. It seems that Punjabi actor/singer Dilijit Dosanjh has opened the door for all the celebrities to come and offer their support to the Khalistani elements’ encompassed farmer protests. Netizens have been viewing a sudden plethora of support pouring on the farmer protests by individuals whose knowledge or understanding of the matter is questionable at best.
Dilijit Dosanjh had previously had a nasty exchange of words with Kangana Ranaut over his support to the ongoing farmer protests. Thereafter, he had proceeded to flood his social media timeline with posts singing praises for the farmer protests.

Taking a cue from him, other celebrities have hurriedly lined up, not wanting to be left behind. In a move that reeks a lot like that of the anti-CAA debacle, our usual suspects have suddenly become experts on all things farmer.
Leading the pack is Priyanka Chopra, who said, “Our farmers are India’s Food Soldiers. Their fears need to be allayed. Their hopes need to be met. As a thriving democracy, we must ensure that this crisis is resolved sooner than later.” Given that she is not longer even a resident of India, her involvement in the matter seems out of place.

Sonam Kapoor took to Instagram to post a series of photos of the protests with the caption, “When tillage begins, other arts follow. The farmers, therefore, are the founders of human civilization.” Daniel Webster 🇮🇳 #dillichalo

Even Riteish Deshmukh took to Twitter and penned down “If you eat today, thank a farmer. I stand in solidarity with every farmer in our country. #JaiKisaan”

On the micro blogging site, Richa Chadha said, “For those who are wondering what the farmers are protesting, read India has been facing an agrarian crisis for the past 2 decades, 12000 farmers commit suicide every year, that’s over 30/day! And yet, this is the biggest protest by people who put food on our plates.” Further continuing, she said, “Next time you shop for vegetables, (which u will soon irrespective of where u live or how much meat/fish u eat), don’t wonder why the prices for vegetables are constantly rising. India is still an agrarian economy. It’s not just a ‘farmer’s issue’. Everything is connected.”

Previously, only Dilijit Dosanjh was encouraging Khalistani elements by donating Rs 1 crore to the protests and partaking in the movement. However, the usual suspects have soon followed the suit and broke their silence to support their Punjabi colleagues like Diljit Dosanjh, Harbhajan Mann, Yograj Singh, and others.
These celebrities were earlier keeping mum on the issue, but have now decided to unite with the others supporting and encouraging the pro-Khalistani elements without understanding the issue fully, under the ‘fake veil’ of supporting the protesting farmers and showing sympathy towards them much-like they did during the anti-CAA protests earlier this year.
