Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda, made his acting debut in The Archies, alongside Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Yuvraj Menda, Dot, Mihir Ahuja, and Vedang Raina. Despite his co-stars’ active presence on social media, Agastya has remained conspicuously absent. When questioned about his social media absence, Agastya’s response left everyone amused.
During an interview with a leading news portal with The Archies cast, Agastya Nanda shared that he used to have a social media account. However, the stress of deciding what to post, the right angle for pictures, and other considerations led him to rethink his approach. Despite not being particularly artsy, he attempted a “cool artsy thing” by creating a collage and making his account public, expecting a positive response. Contrary to his expectations, people started unfollowing him. Initially, he had 800 followers when his account was private, it rose to 20,000 after going public. Unfortunately, the follower count dropped to 500 after the collage, prompting Agastya to decide that staying away from social media is the best choice for him.
Adding to this, Suhana Khan said, “Nobody liked your collage.” To which, Agastya further added, “My family was sending me articles because Suhana, my very great friend, commented on a post saying ‘Unfollowing’. And someone commented saying ‘This is rubbish.’ It made news- ‘Agastya Nanda’s Instagram reveal fails.’ So that’s why guys, I’m not on social media.”
However, Agastya did mention that he maintains a fake social media account, primarily for watching reels.
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies is a coming-of-age musical that delves into themes of friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak, and rebellion. The film unfolds in the fictional town of Riverdale.
