Teary-eyed Kamran Akmal says, ‘team har teesre mahine khushkhabri de rahi’ after USA…

NEW DELHI: As T20 World Cup newcomers United States stunned Babar Azam and Co. in Group A Super Over thriller on Thursday, the Pakistan cricket fraternity reacted with disbelief, labelling the loss as a ‘black day’.
Playing their first-ever World Cup, USA stunned 2009 champions Pakistan after both the teams ended at identical scores in normal play at Dallas’ Grand Prairie Stadium.
In the Super Over, as Pakistan failed to chase down 19 runs, US clinched their second successive win in the tournament.
After the shocker, the Pakistan cricketing fraternity tore into the side with former keeper-batter Kamran Akmal saying, ‘team ne beda garak kar diya’.
Teary-eyed Akmal said that the team has been losing every now and then against the lower-ranked teams and the problem is with their mentality.
Pakistan had lost to Zimbabwe in the last T20 World Cup in Australia and recently the ‘Men In Green’ were beaten by Ireland during a bilateral series.

After the shock loss, skipper Babar conceded that his side was guilty of taking things ‘a little lightly’ and failed to come good in any department of the game.
“Whenever you come in any tournament, you do the best preparation always. You can say it’s a kind of mindset. When you come up against a team like this (associate nations), you relax a little, you take things a little lightly,” Babar said at the post-match press conference.
“See, if you don’t execute your plan against any team, then whatever team it is, they will beat you. So, I believe that we are not up to the mark in executing. We are doing well in preparation but in the match, we are not executing our plans as a team,” he added.
