Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan starred in the Yash Raj Films crime drama Bunty Aur Babli, which released in 2005. It was directed by Shaad Ali. The film went on to be a huge hit. Now the production house is gearing up for the sequel starring Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh in the lead. It’s directed by Varun. V. Sharma.
The film’s shooting was well underway but the COVID – 19 pandemic brought the production to a complete halt. Now, it seems that the film is ready to go on floors again soon. While reports claim that the major chunk of the film was already shot, the last schedule is still pending. The team are now looking to kick off the final schedule in August this year. There also is a special dance number remaining to be shot. YRF is trying its best to ensure that all the safety guidelines are kept in check. A source close to the film stated, “The song is one of the highlights of the film. After much deliberation, Varun and producer Aditya Chopra decided that shooting it within the premises, with a minimal crew, would be the best course of action. That way, they will have the advantage of a controlled environment, making it easier to adhere to the guidelines. The track will be shot in August once the permissions are in place.”
Apart from the sequel, fans are also excited to see Saif and Rani pair up on screen again. The two previously have been part of commercially successful projects like Hum Tum and Ta Ra Rum Pum.
