Feature film Tara & Akash: Love Beyond Realms is all set to premiere at Toronto International Film Festival. Co-produced by the National Film Development Corporation, the film intertwines the majestic landscapes of Switzerland with the profound philosophical heritage of India.
The film traces the journey of Tara & Akash which is presented with a captivating script that captures the beauty and spirit of Switzerland’s cities, as well as the deep philosophical traditions of India. This compelling narrative first garnered international attention when it secured an official collaboration with Switzerland Tourism, recognising the film’s potential to showcase Switzerland’s breathtaking landscapes in a unique cultural context.
The film features Former Mr India winner – Jitesh Thakur and former Miss Diva finalist – Alankrita Bora along with Deepti Naval, Amol Palekar and Brijendra Kala in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Srinivas Abrol and produced by Jitesh and Alankrita’s production house Whispers from Eternity Films and National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) – under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.

The film’s potential was further validated when it was selected for Film Bazaar, organised by the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa 2023. This prestigious platform not only highlighted the film’s artistic value but also led to it winning a co-production deal with NFDC, a major milestone that propelled the project forward. The film also stars legendary actors like Amol Palekar, Deepti Naval, and Brijendra Kala, whose performances added depth and gravitas to the film.
Now, as the film is ready to show to the world, Tara & Akash: Love Beyond Realms is set to make its global debut at TIFF 2024. The film’s first screening will be a Market Screening, proudly supported by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and NFDC, underscoring the international significance of this Indo-Swiss collaboration.
Tara & Akash: Love Beyond Realms is honoured to be screened alongside other remarkable films at TIFF 2024, such as Superboys of Malegaon by Reema Kagti in gala presentations and All We Imagine as Light by Payal Kapadia in special presentations.
