Taapsee Pannu didn’t believe she was in Dunki until the first schedule was…

Taapsee Pannu, renowned for her impactful performances in movies such as Pink and Thappad,  has firmly established her presence in the Bollywood industry. Recently, she shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. In an interview, Pannu expressed her astonishment at landing a role in a film directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Recalling the unexpected turn of events, Taapsee Pannu mentioned that Rajkumar Hirani doesn’t necessarily operate within a comfort zone. He reached out to her out of the blue after watching Manmarziyaan and, based purely on merit, invited her to join Dunki. The offer seemed too good to be true, and Pannu admitted that she didn’t believe it until the first schedule of the film was completed. Even at home, people questioned her, asking, “You are in the film, right? They didn’t kick you out?”

Pannu revealed that about one-and-a-half years before the film went into production, there were rumours that Raju might be considering other actors. However, nothing official came from Raju, and he remained certain about her. Accepting that she was part of the film became challenging for her during this period.

Sharing her experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan, Pannu told the Times Of India, “In your head, obviously, all the flash cuts of all his (Shah Rukh Khan’s) films and the moments he’s created on screen, his songs to his dialogues and all of that keep giving a good reel. But when you come in front of him, it’s not like he has an intimidating personality. He is a very warm and welcoming person. But because you can see the same man you’ve been seeing for years on the big screen, you just freeze in that moment.”
