Subhash Ghai recently confirmed that Aitraaz 2 is officially in the works. He shared that director Amit Rai is working on a script for the sequel. Ghai also said that Priyanka Chopra Jonas won’t star in Aitraaz 2.
The Abbas-Mustan directorial Aitraaz, which released in 2004, starred Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the leading roles. While it hasn’t been confirmed if Akshay and Kareena are returning for the movie, Ghai opened up on Priyanka’s return. During a conversation, he said, “Aitraaz ko bane 20 saal ho gaye. Toh hume aaj ke contemporary artiste, new generation ke actors ke saath banani padegi.” He also confirmed that his production house is working on Khal Nayak 2 and Aitraaz 2.

In another interview, he noted, “I’ve heard a fantastic script from Amit Rai, the writer-director of Oh My God 2, which has been written as Aitraaz 2 now. We are getting so many calls from various studios that they are interested in making the film. And I must say that Amit again has a big hit script with him at the moment. I really loved it.”
