Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal recently talked about the possibility of a team-up between Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales.
During an interview with a leading news portal, Amy Pascal, the producer of Spider-Man, mentioned that the Spider-Verse franchise featuring Miles Morales and the Peter Parker franchise with Tom Holland are two distinct entities. However, she did not rule out the possibility of combining the two. Pascal stated that she is open to any idea and hinted that it may be a while before a crossover occurs as she has many films to produce for each franchise separately.
During the same interview, Tom Holland acknowledged that a fourth instalment of his Spider-Man franchise is in the works. He’s been meeting with Amy and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, and they’ve been debating the topic, ‘Why would we do this again?’ Tom added that it appeared like they had discovered the answer.
However, there is some unease that accompanies the possibility. Tom said, “There’s a bit of a stigma about the fourth one in all franchises. I feel like we hit a home run with our first franchise and there’s a part of me that wants to walk away with my head held high and pass the baton to the next lucky kid that gets to bring this character to life.”
After the second film in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise failed to meet expectations at the box office, Andrew Garfield, who portrayed the superhero before Tom, was let go from the role. Tom expressed his admiration for Andrew, noting that despite this significant setback, Andrew managed to recover and make a successful comeback in his acting career, even earning two Oscar nominations along the way.
Tobey Maguire, who portrayed the first Spider-Man, had a successful franchise that spanned three films. Recently, the three actors who have played Spider-Man came together on-screen in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
