Director Siddharth Anand has discussed actor Shah Rukh Khan’s response to the trailer of his upcoming film Fighter. In an interview with a leading news portal, Siddharth Anand also mentioned that he does not anticipate Fighter to achieve the same level of box office success as Pathaan. He expressed gratitude for being blessed with Pathaan.
Siddharth discussed Shah Rukh’s response to the Fighter trailer, stating that Shah Rukh loved the trailer. They met on the day of its release, and Shah Rukh particularly appreciated the villain’s appearance and the stunts. He further stated that SRK thought that the CGI appeared seamless.
He further added, “I would lie if I told you that I’m not feeling the pressure of the expectations that people have of me and my films post Pathaan. I feel it every moment but I need to isolate myself and understand that each film has its own journey.”
Siddharth also addressed the topic of Pathaan’s box office success and shared his perspective on whether Fighter will perform similarly. He expressed that he doesn’t anticipate a repeat of the same success with Fighter. Pathaan, according to him, was a blessed and special project that unfolded naturally. Siddharth emphasised his desire for Fighter to stand on its own merit and not be compared to any other film, including Pathaan or War. He wants Fighter to carve out its unique space and narrative in the cinematic world.
Fighter stars Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi, Karan Singh Grover and Sanjeeda Sheikh. The film is all set to be released on January 25.
