Shocking new claims surface over AFL stars’ skits about Raygun, Diddy and a blow-up doll a…

  • Several GWS Giants players are facing bans, big fines
  • Post-season party was staged in private room at a pub

GWS Giants AFL stars incorporated Olympics breakdancer Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn and disgraced rap star P. Diddy into a fancy dress ‘Wacky Wednesday’ function that has left some players facing harsh punishments from the league, it has been reported.

Multiple players from the club are facing suspensions or hefty fines after the team and the AFL confirmed they are investigating what happened at the post-season function in a private room in a pub last month.

The scandal arose after an anonymous complaint was made about the ‘Wacky Wednesday’ party over the outfits players wore to the fancy-dress events and the skits they performed on the night, which had a celebrity couples theme.

Now it has been reported that one of the players who could be punished was dressed as Raygun, who became one of the biggest stories at the Paris Olympics.

Another star is reportedly in hot water after making a joke about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the American rap superstar who is in jail awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

A blow-up doll was also used in another skit performed by players, The Age reported.

Approximately six players are facing suspensions over the party, according to SEN Radio journalist Tom Morris.

He reported that Giants Isaac Cumming and James Peatling are not among the players who are facing disciplinary action, and that the club’s stars believe the story got out when the bartender at the pub complained, even though nothing illegal is alleged to have occurred.

Disgraced rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was reportedly the butt of a joke by a GWS Giants star who is now in hot water over his actions at the club’s Wacky Wednesday party

‘One young player in particular, who is said to have made an ill-informed joke about P. Diddy, is set for the harshest suspension,’ Morris said on Monday.

‘A couple of players did a skit from a movie, one player who is set to be fined quite significantly dressed up as Raygun.

‘I can’t imagine that player being fined for dressing up as Raygun, but who knows what actions that player did.’

Morris later reported that skipper Toby Greene wore the Raygun costume and is facing a fine of $20,000.

The possible punishment is reportedly to do with his lack of leadership during the event, not his choice of costume.

Morris said the club found out about the scandal weeks ago, with some of the stars learning about it one weekend before the AFL grand final.

‘I’m told some of the players are pushing back on the suspensions, believing it’s a private room, nothing illegal occurred. The AFL and the Integrity Unit has had time to consider it, digest it and investigate it,’ he said.

‘Given that around six players are set to be suspended and fines of up to $20,000 are set to be handed out, you’d have to suggest there is more to this.’

The league and the Giants have confirmed they are looking into what happened at the event last month, days after their season ended with the semi-final loss to premiers Brisbane.

‘The AFL and GWS have been undertaking an investigation into the Giants players’ post-season event, which is in its final stages,’ the league said in a statement.

The AFL and the Giants have not confirmed what prompted the investigation, or what action the league might take.

GWS released a statement late on Tuesday, saying: ‘the Giants are aware of an anonymous allegation of inappropriate behaviour at the players’ end-of-season function last month.

‘The club and its integrity unit have been working with the AFL’s integrity unit to investigate.’
