Shah Rukh Khan is making headlines for his appearance at the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) 2022. The actor had everyone’s attention with his presence as he was the Guest of Honour at the event which was also attended by Rani Mukerji, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and more.
Shah Rukh Khan’s speech from KIFF 2022 is now making waves. He started off with a witty remark saying, “I made Rani Mukerji write my speech in Bengali. To agar main achha bolun to meri wah wah kijiyega. If I do it badly then it’s Rani’s fault.”
He went on to talk about social media, seemingly hinting at the recent mindless backlash around Pathaan song Besharam Rang. He said, “The collective narrative of our times is shaped by social media. Contrary to the belief that social media will affect cinema negatively, I believe cinema has an even more important role to play now.”
He added, “Social media is often driven by a certain narrowness of view that limits human nature to its baser self. I read somewhere that negativity increases social media consumption and thereby increases its commercial value. Such pursuits enclose the collective narrative, making it divisive and destructive.”
Fans are also overjoyed with Shah Rukh Khan’s get-together with Rani, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan which is a delightful Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… mini-reunion.
