Shah Rukh Khan wins Pardo Alla Carriera Award, charms Locarno Festival

Shah Rukh Khan was honoured with the prestigious Pardo Alla Carriera award at the Locarno Film Festival 2024, marking yet another milestone in his illustrious career. As he accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award, Shah Rukh’s charm and wit shone through. Holding the trophy, he playfully remarked, “This is very heavy,” setting a light-hearted tone for his speech. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “I want to thank you all for welcoming me with such wide arms, wider than the ones I do on screen in this really pretty, very beautiful, very cultural, very artistic, and extremely hot city of Locarno.”

Reflecting on his experience in Locarno, Shah Rukh humorously compared the crowd’s energy to the hustle and bustle of India. “So many people stuffed up in a little square and so hot, it’s just like being home in India. So thank you so much for having me here. It’s been a wonderful last two evenings,” he shared. The audience was further entertained when a fan shouted “I love you” from the crowd, to which he responded, “I love you also. All dramatics continues after the serious speech. It’s the Locarno Film Festival, we all need to sound intellectual, ok?”
