Shah Rukh Khan reveals why he rejected the Oscar-winning Slumdog…


Shah Rukh Khan had rejected a role in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire starring Dev Patel and Freida Pinto. Recently, the star opened up about why he turned down the offer to star in the film.

At an event in Dubai, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that director Danny Boyle offered him the role of the host of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire in the film. This was when SRK was hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Shah Rukh Khan shared, “Slumdog was there, now that you mention it. And I spend a lot of time with Mr. Boyle. He’s very sweet. But I was doing Who Wants to be a Millionaire (Kaun Banega Crorepati) on television, successfully at that time. And I just felt in the story that was being told, the guy who was hosting was very mean, in the story that was being told.”

The role of the host in Slumdog Millionaire was played by Anil Kapoor.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan had a successful past year with three films – Pathan, Jawan and Dunki. He will begin filming for his next in March or April this year.
