Shah Rukh Khan’s third film of the year, Dunki released this month. The film marked his first collaboration with director Rajkumar Hirani. It is no secret that the star wanted to work with Hirani sooner. In fact, he was initially offered roles in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and 3 Idiots. However, he had to opt out of the projects.
In a recent interview, Shah Rukh Khan was asked why it took so long for him to collaborate with Rajkumar Hirani. The star revealed that he got the script for Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. when he was working on Devdas. He agreed to star in the film without reading the script. However, he got injured and underwent spine surgery and couldn’t commit to the project. The film which is one of Hirani’s career highlights featured Sanjay Dutt who won hearts for his performance.
Shah Rukh Khan was also offered 3 Idiots. However, the star was caught up with another project that was delayed. He also had another injury so he decided to opt out of the film. 3 Idiots featured Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi in lead roles.
Dunki which arrived in cinemas on December 21 also features Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal and others.
