The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming film The Marvels will feature the power-packed trio of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau. The film will not only feature the electrifying trio on the big screen but also one of the most crucial members of the MCU in a more significant role. It’s none other than Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The director of Secret Invasion, Ali Salem describes the series as “a big love story,” that explores Nick Fury’s emotional side. He says, “I think it’s a big love story. And I think it’s Nick exploring his love for a lot of people. The most challenging one is the fact that he fell in love and married a Skrull and battled his sense of other, living as a Black man in America and living as an ageing man in a more fit world. I think he’s constantly exploring that sense of other and dealing with this love story that he’s never quite reconciled.”
The trailer of The Marvels looks promising, but it would be interesting to know how The Marvels would impact the MCU, starting with Nick Fury. After the events of Secret Invasion, Fury will have an unprecedented character arc.
The Marvels features an incredible cast including Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-joon in important roles. Directed by Nia DaCosta and produced by Kevin Feige, this upcoming film follows Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau on a cosmic mission to save the world.
The Marvels is scheduled to hit the theatres this Diwali on November 10.
