Samsung Galaxy Ring 2 Likely To Launch Early: Here’s What We Can Expect

Samsung’s second shot at the smart ring segment could feature upgrades that many people are hoping to see.

The Ring 2 version promises all the upgrades we expect

Samsung may release a follow-up to its first-generation ring-shaped health and fitness tracker sooner than it had originally intended. The rumoured Galaxy Ring 2 is also said to come with new features, a thinner design, and longer battery life. Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly developing additional wearable smart devices at the same time.

In a post on the South Korean online platform Naver, user @yeux1122 stated that Samsung anticipates releasing the successor for the first Galaxy Ring “sooner than originally planned.” This is a nebulous statement, but if Samsung had originally planned a later release date, we could assume that it means the wearable could be released in 2025.

The Galaxy S25 series, which is anticipated to make its debut in the first quarter of 2025, may even be the first to arrive if the company was already thinking about the 2025 launch window.

The tipster, who has a good track record for bringing information about future Samsung products, has proposed an early launch date in addition to the alleged Galaxy Ring 2’s slimmer shape. The first-generation device comes in nine different sizes, ranging from five to thirteen. The fifth size weighs 2.3g and measures 7.0mm in width, while the thirteenth size weighs 3g.

Compared to the current model, the Galaxy Ring 2 is also expected to have a longer battery life. When the Samsung Galaxy Ring was first introduced earlier this year, the company claimed that it would have a battery life of up to seven days between charges. New features are also mentioned by the tipster, but no details have been provided.

The tipster confirms in their blog post that Apple is also developing wearables of its own, which may take the shape of a smart ring, as per recent reports. Furthermore, another recent report, however, claimed that the iPhone manufacturer had given up on the smart ring project to avoid eating into Apple Watch sales.
