Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently busy shooting her upcoming spy web series Citadel alongside Varun Dhawan in Serbia. The actress, whose schedule is packed with intriguing projects, will shortly begin filming for Chennai Story, a Hollywood production.
As per the recent reports, Samantha will finish production on the web series before beginning to work on her debut English-language feature film alongside Vivek Kalra. The film is directed by BAFTA winner Philip John (Downton Abbey) and is based on Timeri N Murari’s novel The Arrangements of Love.
According to reports, Vivek Kalra would portray a South Asian Welshman who travels to Chennai in search of his estranged father. He approaches Samantha’s character, a detective, for assistance. The romantic comedy, which recounts the individuals’ cultural contrasts in an effort to demonstrate that opposites do attract, will reportedly promote and connect Eastern and Western cultures.
The film will reportedly be shot in both Chennai and the United Kingdom and is expected to be released in English and Tamil.
Meanwhile, apart from Citadel, Samatha will next be seen in Kushi alongside Vijay Deverakonda. The film is scheduled to be released on September 1.
