Samantha Ruth Prabhu released her health podcast called Take 20 and dropped the first episode called Understanding Autoimmunity.
In the podcast episode, the actor touches on the topic of her divorce, calling her separation from Naga Chaitanya “extremely difficult.” She also opened up about her battle with myositis.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya dated a few years before marrying in 2017, subsequently announcing their separation in 2021.
She said on her podcast “I remember specifically the year before I had this problem; it was an extremely difficult year for me. I specifically remember the day that I think my friend, partner, or manager, Himank, and I were travelling back from Mumbai. And this was in June of the year before last, and I remember telling him that finally I felt calm. I haven’t felt a little relaxed and a little calm in a very, very long time. And I finally feel like I can breathe and I can go to sleep, and I can now wake up and focus on my work and be the best that I can be at work. And I woke up with this condition.”
She further added, “The reason I wanted to do this podcast was because after the experience, the harrowing experience that I’ve been through and, well, an autoimmune condition is lifelong, so with what I’m dealing with right now as well, I’d rather people be safe than sorry.”
Last year, Samantha was diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune condition, which led her to take a break from her work. The actor described the experience with her condition as “harrowing.”
She was last seen in the film Kushi alongside Vijay Devarakonda. She will next be seen in the Indian spinoff of Citadel, starring Varun Dhawan and directed by Raj and DK.
