Salman Khan’s niece, Alizeh Agnihotri, embarked on her acting journey with the film Farrey, helmed by Soumendra Padhi. The movie hit theatres last Friday, receiving accolades from critics and audiences alike. Despite her family’s ties to the film industry, Alizeh credited her inspiration to pursue acting after watching Imtiaz Ali’s Highway.

In a recent interview with a leading news portal, Alizeh shared how Highway, starring Alia Bhatt, ignited her passion for acting. She recounted how the film, experienced during a flight back from college, sparked the realisation of a growing space for strong and empowered female roles in Indian cinema, introduced by a new wave of directors and actors.

 

Reflecting on her journey, Alizeh engaged in workshops, honing her craft through practice and preparation. She compiled a reel of auditions, garnering positive feedback, and eventually landing the opportunity in Farrey organically. She expressed admiration for Soumendra Padhi’s directorial prowess, deeming her experience akin to being trained in an acting school.
