Salaar: Director Prashanth Neel talks about the violent scenes in Prabhas…

Prashanth Neel’s highly anticipated upcoming film, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, has finally unveiled its trailer, causing excitement among fans, particularly for Prabhas’ action sequences. The audience is eagerly awaiting the film’s release and is intrigued to discover the level of violence in the movie, especially after Prabhas described it as his most intense film.

In an interview with Etimes, Prashanth said, “The violence comes only with the emotion. There is no necessity for violence, just for the sake of violence. I know mass movies sell. And mass movies come with a tag of violence behind it. The more violence it has, the more mass it is.”

He further added, “So if Salaar is going to be a mass movie, then it is only because it has an emotion behind it. And the violence comes in only because of that emotion. So we strictly have restricted ourselves to the emotion of the movie. And whatever the emotion has required us to do, only so much violence we have shown.”

The filmmaker also discussed “courting” Prabhas for the film, mentioning that they had spent about 4 months together and had a few drinks a couple of times. Building a rapport with an actor is crucial for on-screen chemistry, and the filmmaker emphasised the importance of off-screen friendship, citing his lasting bond with Yash.

Salaar also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan in key roles. The film is set to hit the theatres on December 22, 2023
