After the successful liftoff of a four-person crew from Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday, U.S. and Russian space officials told reporters they intended to continue cooperating in space despite tensions over Russia’s war in Ukraine. As part of the launch, Russian female cosmonaut Anna Kikina became the first Russian in 20 years to be rocketed to the ISS from the U.S, alongside NASA and Japanese astronauts. After the launch, Roscosmos executive director Sergei Krikalev said Russia remains committed to the space station through at least 2024. Earlier, Russian officials had said that their country planned to pull out of the International Space Station after 2024.
