This week our Black Lady graced Kolkata again and decided to honour the best of the best in Bengali cinema. Riddhi Sen who had given an outstanding performance in Nagarkirtan where he played the role of a eunuch won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Critics’) for his phenomenal performance.

Today he spoke to E Times about his big win and the young actor was kind enough to say that the award is dedicated to his team. Being humble and modest, the actor said that the entire team has worked for his character to become unforgettable and lists out his gratitude list to the portal. The actor said, “I am elated and humbled to receive this award for portraying the character of Puti in Nagarkirtan. Cinema is not a ‘one man job’, I dedicate this award to every single artist who worked in our film. I can’t thank Kaushik Ganguly enough for trusting me with a character which every actor dreams to play, without Acropolis Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.’s support, Shirsha Ray’s cinematography, Prabuddha Banerjee’s music, Ram Rejak and Hema Munshi’s make up, Subhajit Singha’s edit, Goutam Basu’s production design and every single person’s collective effort who worked in our unit , my character wouldn’t have come to life.”

The actor further even mentioned Ritwick Chakraborty, his co-star in the film. He said that without his co-star’s character, Puti wouldn’t be what it is today, “Without Ritwick Chakraborty’s unparalleled and incredible Modhuda, I couldn’t have moved a single step ahead with this beautiful journey of the flute player and the eunuch.” Riddhi Sen truly deserved the big win and the actor surprised us with his performance. Here’s hoping that the actor keeps continuing his phenomenal work at the movies.
