Those who constantly flaunt their neutral credentials are the ones who continuously do injustice to their profession. During the UPA era, Congress and its coalition partners implanted their loyal serfs in key positions of power, including in the media. In the absence of their masters’ backing, these “preachers,” or rather “the apologists of Congress and the leftist ecosystem,” have failed to carry along the act of doing “neutral journalism.”
After years of public ranting and cancelling their naysayers, these alleged journalists have finally reached out to their masters, seeking help to save their drowning careers.
The original proponent of Godi Media personified this inglorious categorisation
For more than half a decade, former NDTV journalist Ravish Kumar kept sermonising that everyone should stop watching media coverage. He used to say that, with the exception of a few people like him, every other journalist is a part of Godi Media. As per the erudite Ravish Kumar, all those journalists who take pride in being clicked alongside politicians are part of this inglorious category of “Godi Media.”
Irony must have died a hundred deaths seeing Ravish Kumar doing the very same things which he claimed to despise. Notably, the self-proclaimed champion of journalism, Ravish Kumar became an active part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra in the smoke screen of covering the yatra.

In his so-called coverage, Ravish did everything possible to do the bidding of Congress’ ambitious yatra. Alongside his partisan take on the same, his cynicism about media houses continued.
Predicting a tectonic shift from the Yatra, Ravish Kumar continuously claimed that the “commentator class” or “coverage class” were downplaying the impact of Rahul Gandhi’s yatra. This new nomenclature for media houses owes its inception to Ravish, who knew that he personified the definition of “Godi media” and that it wouldn’t be correct to keep repeating it.

Without an ounce of shame for indulging in a Himalayan level of hypocrisy, Ravish Kumar got clicked alongside Rahul Gandhi, a politician. Ravish’s outward sycophancy toward Congress forced everyone to evaluate his behaviour against the standard parameters set for other journalists.
However, it is not that; it was new for Ravish Kumar to expose himself on this count as well. Just like on several other issues and ideas, Ravish Kumar had earlier demonstrated his hypocrisy when he actively joined politicians Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav on their campaign trail during the 2019 general elections.

Apart from these public appearances with these politicians, Ravish Kumar has had familial terms with political parties. Brajesh Pandey, his rape-accused brother, ran for office on the Congress ticket.
The never-ending urge to act as stamping authority on Journalism
Before severing ties with NDTV, Ravish Kumar questioned the credentials of other journalists on a daily basis. After corroding all his journalistic credentials, he is still dragging out the same retarded monologue. Apart from being clicked alongside Rahul Gandhi, Ravish has been parroting his line on crony capitalism and reaping publicity out of it. In a joint attempt to achieve two objectives, Ravish Kumar argued that several notable journalists failed to ask tough questions to Mr. Gautam Adani.
Essentially, his charge was directed at Rajat Sharma, an India TV journalist who had recently interviewed Gautam Adani. Rajat Sharma posed all of the questions that the leftist media has been hurling at Adani, as well as allegations of undue benefit from the Modi government. However, Ravish was unimpressed with those questions and questioned Rajat Sharma and ilks journalistic credentials.
However, Ravish should be the last person to question the credentials of other journalists. Ravish has long forgotten and broken the basic tenets of journalism in the cynicism of PM Narendra Modi, and has since been acting as a partisan player rather than a neutral journalist. Furthermore, he should ask himself why he thinks so highly of himself, other than consciously speaking ill of the Modi government and premier Indian institutions and democratic values on multiple occasions.
Ravish Kumar has forgotten that he has nothing to show when it comes to unbiased reporting. There is hardly any credible news that he initiated or showcased any of his interviews with any politician where he demonstrated those tenets, which he considers to be the test case of journalism. Is there any investigative reporting that he has ever undertaken?
Rather than pointing fingers at other journalists, Ravish Kumar should focus more on himself and try to control his urge to be an active player in political issues. With such acts, he repeatedly exposes his abject hypocrisy and demonstrates that it was people like him who were part of the group levelled as “Godi media” during the UPA era, which helped people like him infiltrate the profession of journalism.
