Ranveer Singh is one of the most talented actors in the industry, known for delivering multiple hits over the years. From Band Baaja Baaraat to Gully Boy, Ranveer has portrayed a wide variety of roles. While many of his films were successful, one particular film marked a low point in his career. This movie turned out to be a significant flop, failing to recover even half of its budget and causing a loss of 59 crores for the makers. Within just four days, theaters showed a drastic drop in audience attendance.
The film in question is Jayeshbhai Jordaar, released in 2022. Directed by Divyang Thakkar, the film starred Pratik Gandhi, Ranveer Singh, and Shalini Pandey in key roles. The screenplay was written by Ankur Chaudhary and Divyang Thakkar. Despite being made on a budget of 85 crores, the movie earned only 26 crores worldwide, with a domestic net collection of just 15 crores, making it a substantial box office failure.
The storyline revolves around Jayesh, a timid man who defies his patriarchal family to flee with his wife in order to save their unborn daughter from being aborted. Although the film tackled an important social issue, it failed to connect with audiences, which impacted theater attendance significantly.
Looking ahead, Ranveer Singh is gearing up for his upcoming film Don 3, which has generated considerable excitement among his fans. Ranveer made his debut in 2010 with Band Baaja Baaraat and has since appeared in films like Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, Lootera, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Gunday, Kill Dil, Dil Dhadakne Do, Bajirao Mastani, Befikre, Padmaavat, Simmba, Gully Boy, 83, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Cirkus, and most recently in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
On the personal front, Ranveer recently embraced fatherhood. He married actress Deepika Padukone in 2018, and in 2024, the couple was blessed with a baby girl, whom they named Dua Padukone Singh.
