Ranbir Kapoor, portraying an intense and aggressive role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, shared his initial reaction upon reading the film’s script. The actor disclosed that after hearing the narrative from the director, he felt an overwhelming sense of apprehension, prompting him to hastily excuse himself to the bathroom.
During a conversation with Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna, Ranbir revealed his reaction to the script, mentioning how he spent around five to six minutes secluded in the bathroom immediately after the narration. This prolonged absence left Sandeep Reddy Vanga concerned about the actor’s response.
The director initially interpreted it as a sign of rejection. “I narrated the script, the story was over and he said he would be back and left the room. But he won’t come out. I thought it was probably his style of saying no. I thought this was how Hindi actors probably say no when they don’t like scripts,” Sandeep confessed, reflecting on the moment.
“You did a good job, we are doing this,” Ranbir remarked after the initial nervousness, affirming their first collaboration.
Animal, scheduled for release on December 1, presents Ranbir Kapoor in a never-before-seen avatar, depicting the story of a gangster seeking vengeance after his father, portrayed by Anil Kapoor, is attacked. Alongside Ranbir, the film stars Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol. The movie is slated for a theatrical release on December 1, 2023.
