The farmer’s protests had long lost its way is a fact know ubiquitously to all. However, the leaders of the protests have now changed their gameplan and are now more focused on creating unrest and sow seeds of disharmony in society. In a related incident, Naresh Tikait, the National President of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) and brother of Rakesh Tikait, at a Mahapanchayat in UP’s Sisauli told the public not to invite BJP leaders to the wedding ceremony.
While issuing the dictatorial order, Naresh Tikait said, “If you invite them then be ready to feed 100 BKU activists next day.” He further said that the BJP has mentally imprisoned some people from his organization.
Most certainly Naresh’s false sense of bravado stems from his brother Rakesh’s belligerence, who has been camping outside the capital city of Delhi for months now. Rakesh has been the lynchpin of the entire movement and has so far managed to downgrade the image of farmers by introducing Khalistani elements, agenda-driven political parties, and violence at the heart of the protest.
Tikait, who calls himself a farmer doesn’t share the same credentials as the other protestors coming from modest walks of life — albeit he is one of the richest guys going around in the protest, only looking to chart a roadmap for his future political career. Tikait, time and again has given incendiary speeches and provoked the anti-social elements in the farmer’s protest to go on a rampage.
On the eve of Republic Day, Tikait had given a hint to his sinister plans of creating chaos and mayhem across the National Capital. Reported by TFI, Tikait had asked the farmers to block roads in cities and towns where ever they were leading the tractors.
What happened afterwards was for everyone to see as Delhi descended into complete anarchy which was the doing of Tikait. The supposed Farmers’ leader did not take any responsibility for the chain of events that occurred on January 26 – instead, he went in the corner and started crying like a kid, claiming that the protests will go on and reiterated that the laws must be repealed. He also threatened to commit suicide and said there was a conspiracy underway to murder farmers.

Tikait’s has been slapped with UAPA by the Delhi Police and by instigating the public through his speeches or through his proxies like Naresh, he is trying to inflict maximum damage before the courts end his days of freedom.
Tikait is not here to find any solution to the deadlock – the longer the protests stretch, the more clout he will gain and that appears to be his sole strategy. Thus, it is high time that the government aggressively pursues the case against Rakesh Tikait, for the only place he deserves after creating such ruckus is the solitary confinement of a high-security prison.
