Queen Letizia looked cut an elegant figure for her sister-in-law’s 60th birthday celebrations in Madrid today.
The royal, 51, appeared in high spirits as she arrived at the exclusive Pabú restaurant with King Felipe in the country’s capital.
For the family gathering, the mother-of-two opted for a pair of statement green-and-blue checked trousers.
The stylish royal was pictured wearing a thin leather belt with dainty silver hardware, which perfectly offset the trouser buttons.
Allowing her statement trousers to take centre stage, Letizia paired them with a simple black crew-neck jumper and chunky black shoes.

The royal wore her glossy brown hair straight and was pictured wearing some dangly emerald earrings – which brought out the green in her checked trousers.
Having anticipated it would chiller, the Queen was also seen holding a leather jacket that she had taken off.
King Felipe – her husband of 19 years – looked equally dapper in a dark grey suit.
The royal paired his suit with a light blue shirt, red patterned tie and maroon patent shoes.
The couple were seen happily speaking to staff as they arrived, before later peering their heads around the door to wave to royal fans.
Meanwhile, Felipe’s father Juan Carlos was also seen arriving at the restaurant shortly afterwards for his daughter’s birthday celebration.
The disgraced King has spent the past few years living in a self-imposed exile in Abu Dhabi after abdicating in June 2014 following a corruption scandal.
For the occasion, the ex-King, 85, wore a navy blue suit, white shirt and patterned tie.

Royal mother-of-two Infanta Elena celebrated her 60th birthday with an intimate family dinner today
Infanta Elena was pictured beaming as she drove her car to the restaurant and happily received a bunch of flowers from photographers.
The royal – who also holds the title Duchess of Lugo – has managed to keep a relatively low profile, despite being the sister of the King.
Elena shares her daughter Victoria de Marichalar y Borbón and son Felipe with her ex-husband Jaime de Marichalar.
The couple married in 1995 before divorcing in 2009. At the time, the pair issued a statement saying they ‘maintain a fluid dialogue on all matters relating to the common interest of their children’.

The couple share four children but their marriage crumbled after he was sentenced to five years in prison for financial crimes in 2018 and faced allegations of cheating
It is not known if Felipe and Elena’s sister Infanta Cristina will be attending the celebrations today – after finding herself at the heart of one of the Spanish monarchies biggest scandals.
In 2018, the King’s former brother-in-law was jailed for financial crimes.
Businessman and retired handball player Iñaki Urdangarin, 54, was sentenced to five years in prison in 2018 for embezzlement and money laundering in excess of £4.5 million through his non-profit organisation, the Noos Institute.
Urdangarin married Infanta Cristina in 1997 and the couple share four children together, all in their late teens or early twenties: Juan, Pablo, Miguel and Irene.
