The premiere of Priyanka Chopra’s new series Citadel is rapidly approaching. Priyanka plays spy agent Nadia Singh in the Russo Brothers-produced series. Priyanka, who attended Citadel’s premiere in Mumbai a few weeks ago, stated in a recent interview that she prefers to use just her first name, Priyanka, citing Cher and Rekha as examples.
Priyanka has shared a number of intriguing details about Citadel and how she came to be involved with the project. The actor claimed that Citadel marked the first time in her 22-year acting career that she had been paid equally to her male co-star in the show.
In a recent interview, the actor was also asked about having a common Indian name and how it impacts her image in Hollywood. To this, Priyanka said, “I take full advantage of the fact that I am the only Priyanka most Americans know. But when I come to India, there are at least six Priyankas in the room! (laughs) So over the years, I have got used to being just PC in India. But when I go to America, I am the only one. I don’t even use my last name most often there anymore. I want to now become like Cher! Or Rekha! Just Priyanka! (laughs) I love it.”
