KARNATAKA: A 64-year-old man with comorbidities, who was tested positive for Covid 19, died on December 15.
The patient presented with breathlessness, cough, fatigue, and loss of appetite, said a source.
On evaluation, a chest X-ray revealed severe lower respiratory tract infection. The patient tested positive for Covid 19 and was shifted to an isolation ward and put on NIV support.He was treated with antibiotics, anti-virals, antihistamine, steroids, and UFH, but his condition worsened.
Hospital records reveal that he died of severe Covid pneumonia, heart failure and cardiogenic shock. He also suffered from an old pulmonary tuberculosis, bronchial asthma, interstitial lung disease, and essential hypertension.
The death, however, is not mentioned in the Karnataka Health Department’s daily Covid 19 abstract yet.
