Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly made history at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix by achieving a unique feat. The Alpine driver continued his impressive late-season run, finishing the year’s final Grand Prix event in sixth place. While the French motorsport racer couldn’t crack the top five standings at the Yas Marina Circuit, he sure left his employers quite impressed.
Gasly etched his name in F1 history by becoming the first driver to have incurred $0 in damages during a full season.
The incredible achievement has left the fans on social media pleasantly surprised.
One user suggested that Gasly deserved a bonus for this feat. “I feel like there should be a bonus for this…or a very nice watch perhaps,” he wrote.
Another commented, “Damn, I forgot, that’s actually mad that he hadn’t had a single incident with anyone the whole season.”

Gasly struggled early in the season with a mere nine points from the first 20 rounds. He picked up form starting with the Brazilian Grand Prix where both Gasly and his teammate Esteban Ocon finished on the podium. It gave their season a vital boost.
Gasly’s consistent performances saw him finish with 42 points in the overall driver standings. He expressed his satisfaction with the team’s results after the race.
“I’m so happy, it was a very long season,” he said, as per Formula1.com. Speaking further, he added, “Kept our nose clean the entire season for no damage so the three targets were completed!”
While Gasly impressed at Abu Dhabi, it was McLaren that clinched the constructors title with Lando Norris winning the final Grand Prix of 2024.
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won the Drivers Championship 2024 as the season came to a close.
