Parliament Winter Session 2023: As many as 33 Lok Sabha MPs, including Leader of Congress Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, were suspended from the Lower House as the opposition continues its demand for statements from PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on a major security breach in Parliament.
Parties associated with the INDIA bloc also raised the suspension of 14 MPs–13 from Lok Sabha and 1 from Rajya Sabha. Treasury Bench tabled the Telecommunications Bill 2023 in Lok Sabha, which was later passed. The Bill aims to replace the 138-year-old Indian Telegraph Act that governs the telecom sector.
