Oppenheimer star Florence Pugh to play Rapunzel in Tangled live action?…

Another classic Disney animation is getting a live-action remake. It was revealed last week that the studio is putting a high priority on developing a live-action adaptation of Tangled once the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are over. Disney recently released Little Mermaid to critical acclaim and has a slew of new live-action projects in the works. Fans are most interested in learning who will play the endearing long-haired Princess Rapunzel.

According to industry sources, Disney is considering Florence Pugh to play Rapunzel in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Tangled. Pugh’s star has risen to new heights as she has become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actresses in recent years. She previously appeared in a Disney production as Yelena Belova in 2021’s MCU project, Black Widow. She will also be seen in Marvel’s upcoming film Thunderbolts. Given that the film is still in its early stages of development, it is unclear whether any discussions have taken place or offers have been made to the actress.

The characters in the original Tangled, which was released in 2010, were voiced by Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, and Donna Murphy. The animated film received widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics, grossing more than $590 million worldwide. It was also Disney’s most successful animated film since The Lion King in 1994. Furthermore, the film, like The Little Mermaid, ushered in a new era of animation for the studio.
