- The Frenchman is in the last year of his current contract at Old Trafford

Manchester United won’t try to cash in on Paul Pogba despite the Frenchman entering the final year of his contract with no new deal having been reached.
Pogba, who started the season with four assists against Leeds last weekend, is in a position to walk away from Old Trafford for nothing in a year’s time.
But manager Ole Gunnar Solskaer doesn’t think it will force the club into a firesale before the transfer window closes on August 31 – or that Pogba’s performances will drop.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that Paul Pogba won’t be sold despite his future being uncertain
Pogba claimed four assists against Leeds – but he only has a year left on his current contract
‘I expect him (Pogba) to be here when September 1 comes,’ said Solskjaer.
‘If you’ve got a five-year contract or a one-year contract, when you sign for Man United you have to rise to the challenge of performing on a consistent level.
‘I’m not worried whatsoever that the length of any player’s contract changes the level of their motivation and inspiration.
‘You want to play well for your team, your teammates, yourself, your family, every time you play.’
Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are developing a telepathic understanding, with the Portuguese playmaker netting a hat-trick against Leeds.
‘You can’t expect to score five goals every game but you do expect the attitude to be right every game. I have no worries about Paul whatsoever.
Pogba has been subject to speculating over the summer linking him with Paris Saint-Germain, led by manager Mauricio Pochettino (above)
‘He’s enjoying his football and I’ve said many times, my job is to make sure we’re getting the best out of Paul and Bruno and all the individuals.’
Pogba left United after his contract ran down as a teenager in 2012 but re-signed four years later from Juventus for a record £89million.
Despite plenty of speculation over several seasons about him joining Real Madrid, Juventus and more recently Paris Saint-Germain, he is still at Old Trafford into the final year of his deal, with reports the club have offered to make him the highest-paid player on the books.
