Nushrratt Bharuccha has shared her disappointment at not being involved in the sequel to her 2019 film Dream Girl, titled Dream Girl 2. In a recent interview, she expressed that it was disheartening to not be a part of their second journey.
In an interview with a leading news portal, Nushrratt Bharuccha expressed that when an actor’s work is appreciated, they tend to develop a special connection with it. She mentioned that her 2019 film Dream Girl holds a special place in her heart for this reason.
Talking about her Dream Girl co-star Ayushmann Khurrana, she said, “Also because Ayushmann was genuinely a delight to work with, and he’s someone whom I honestly call my closest friend from the movie business. He was the only person who called to check on me when I had fallen sick and had vertigo.”
In addition, Nushrratt Bharuccha mentioned that her director Raaj Shaandilyaa, with whom she also worked on Janhit Mein Jaari, is very dear to her. She expressed that the entire team of Dream Girl is special to her. Although it was disheartening for her not to be a part of the sequel, she wished the best for the film and plans to watch it on its opening day. She also hopes that the film surpasses the 200-300 crore mark.
Nushrratt Bharuccha starred alongside Ayushmann Khurrana in the 2019 film Dream Girl. The comedy film was helmed by Raaj Shaandilyaa in his directorial debut and produced by Ekta Kapoor. It also starred Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz, and Abhishek Banerjee.
Dream Girl 2 has Ananya Panday playing the female lead opposite Ayushmann. The film is all set to be released on August 25. It also stars Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh and Abhishek Banerjee.
