Veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah’s younger son, actor Vivaan Shah has tested positive for COVID-19. He has joined a long chain of Indian film stars who tested positive for the deadly virus. Vivaan has reportedly been busy promoting his new series, Mira Nair’s A Suitable Boy, which also stars Tabu, Ishaan Khatter and Ram Kapoor. India’s coronavirus infections witnessed a welcome dip as less than 40,000 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours. On Tuesday, the country recorded 38,310 new COVID-19 cases taking the total count to 82,67,623. At least 490 new deaths were recorded this morning, taking the cumulative death toll to 1,23,097. The total number of active cases as of this morning stood at 5,41,405 after a decrease of 20,503 in the last 24 hrs, Union Health Ministry data showed. More than 76,03,121 people have recuperated from the disease, with 58,323 new discharges in the last 24 hrs, pushing the national recovery rate to 91.96 percent, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.49 percent.
